Formal Dining question...

I know how sensitive folks are to "Can I wear... on formal night?" but I've searched and not found a post addressing this:

 

Do ANY men wear Top Hats?

TGF - we've been on 17 cruises on HAL, Celebrity, Princess, NCL(1), Carnival(1) and I've never seen one. If someone were to wear one, I would suspect that it might happen on HAL.

I’ve never seen a top hat – but it certainly would be dapper…of course the requisite tails should be included.

We haven't seen a top hat since Fred and Ginger.

One time on the Galaxy last April.

 

Everyone at one particular table dressed to the extreme. One guy wore a 1880's Era Western formal outfit...with Knee high boots shined to a high gloss, and his bull whip attached to the red sash tied around his jacket.

 

They were a hit!

The only place to wear a top hat should be outside, just the same as baseball caps on men. In my opinion a man wearing a baseball cap in the dining room, other than for medical reasons is just plain rude! john

One guy on my Panama cruise a few years back had white tie, tails and top hat
