Tender question

We have only been to one port in the past that had a tender and that was Cayman Island. We didn't have a Carnival excursion booked. We booked outside of Carnival. So when we docked at 8am we couldn't get off until 11am. Anyone have any experience with tendering in Belize and how fast/slow it is? We are probably booking outside of Carnival once again. We have had such good luck booking privately then booking on Carnival. Its truly overcrowded on Carnival booked excursions so if the price to pay is last off then so be it. I just want to know if anyone has any helpful info/insight on what the expect.

Thanks!

Oh we are booked on the Splendor Nov 29.

Our 3rd Carnival cruise First two were Glory and Ecstacy

The ships anchor approximately 5 miles off shore. The ride on the tender is about 20 minutes. The tenders take a lot of passengers but how many tenders there are and how quickly you can board one seems to depend on how many ships are there. In the past we have been able to board one fairly quickly but also have been trips where we waited quite a while.

I was just on the 10/31/2015 Valor cruise. Some in my group had an independent shore excursion booked and the confirmation advised the shore excursion started 90 minutes after ship arrival. The independent shorex take the timing in consideration. On the Valor they had you go to lounge and get a tender ticket and you would be on tenders after the CCL shorex.
