P & O Aria, Opera House & Harbour Bridge - made with thousands of lego bricks

Recommended Posts

For anyone who is boarding/disembarking in Sydney and has young Lego enthusiast in the family, this may be of interest. The Museum of Sydney which is a short walk up from Circular Quay currently has a lego exhibit on.

It features a large scale lego model of Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge (with harbour tunnel), Luna Park and a rather impressive model of P & O Aria.

The P & O Aria was made of 210,000 lego bricks and features an complete exterior on one side with lifeboats etc and surrounded by lego sailboats and a tug on Sydney Harbour. On the other side is a very detailed interior version of the ship. Among the features are seasick passengers in the lower deck, a chef chasing a pig in the kitchen, a 70s disco party and zip line and segways on top deck.

It's designed for young families as there are tonnes of lego blocks under each model and the kids are given an hour to build lego models to their heart's content. I did notice plenty of parents and grandparents enjoying building their own models:)
