cruizinator Posted November 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2015 Our Alaska Reservation for August 2016 says: Tendered. In the meantime I heard that they are building a pier for the cruise ships. Is this rumor true or false? I was there this past May... and was told the 400' long pier would be ready for the 2016 cruise season.
Urban trekker Posted November 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2015 It is my understanding as well that the new pier will be ready for the 2016 cruise season but perhaps the cruise line is playing it safe until the pier actually opens. The tender is very short - didn't seemed to be more than about 5 minutes. Cheers! Dennis
ISP Posted November 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2015 The cruise dock is currently in its final construction phases and will be ready well in advance of the 2016 season.

Urban trekker Posted November 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Looks like a fair amount of work has been done since I was there in September. Cheers! Dennis
