Dawn May 1 or Jade Feb 20

First world problem right? Have a free cruise certificate (not exactly free after fees, etc but still reasonable) for an inside cabin and need to pick between these two ships/itineraries due to husbands work schedule. Like idea of sailing from NO and weather in May, but am concerned about last sailing before drydock on Dawn. In general, Jade seems to have better reviews and Houston is a couple of hours closer drive. Having never sailed NCL - anyone have any words or wisdom for me?

Jade is a bit newer ship and IMO has better layout than Dawn (Jewel class ships are based on Dawn class ship design with some alterations/improvements like an extra deck, outdoor buffet, nicer location of Spinnaker lounge and IMO better pool deck layout) – I'd also rather cruise in February than in May.

 

Even if the dates were reversed, personally I'd probably choose Jade (have sailed on her four times now).
