I am not the OP but as a parent myself, I can tell you that when parents routinely set rules enforce them, they have no real reason to be worried that a new rule will be handled any differently by thier children. Kids who are in the habit of obedience generally stay in the habit. In the unlikely event that they make a mistake then there are consequences commensurate with the level of the infraction ( in this case the level of risk/danger) and the lesson is learned.
