drop off luggage

Booked Carnival Glory from San Juan. Boarding is 2:30 to 8:30, leaving port at 10pm. Can we drop off our luggage at the pier and board at a later time?

I am going on the Liberty out of San Juan 12/13 and will be there 2 days earlier. I am planning on dropping off luggage and checking in around 11am and then going into old San juan and walking around. We are going to get wine and reboard. We are going to enjoy the day in San Juan and then have dinner in the steakhouse before muster.
