blackbear9 Posted November 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2015 Hi! We arrive in Sao Paulo at 11:15 am and leave at 8:20 pm for Buenos Aires to catch the cruise. We hate to be in a new city and only see the airport. We did get Brazilian visas to give us options. We were going to leave our carry-on in a locker and take a bus into the city. We have some concerns that it is really unsafe. Is this exaggerated? Do you have other recommendations? Thanks!
VidaNaPraia Posted December 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2015 (edited) You probably want to go and stroll around in Jardins, look at the shops, have coffee and lunch. Go to MASP if you want to see some works by Brazilian painters. The tropical park Trianon is across the street. You'll only have a couple of hours probably. Safety in Jardins is not a big concern, but remain aware of your surroundings. Edited December 1, 2015 by VidaNaPraia

Just realize it may take an hour each way to get from GRU to Jardins. The traffic is HORRENDOUS. Don't be using your smartphones in public too much, and HOLD them....with a grip. People have been known to walk by & snatch it out of your hand while you're looking right at it. .
