NYC Transportation

I used this board to try and find reasonable transportation from Newark Marriott at the airport and found Golden Horse Trans. They were recommended by Mking8288 on this section. Many Thanks my friend, I owe you. Started looking different places and decided to try the ground transportation from the Marriott hotel. First , about $200 for 11 people and luggage. Then they couldn't do it, prior commitment. I threw myself on them for mercy and was told the manager would call me. Never called. I called again and talked to Anthony and finally was told that probably something could be worked out for about $300. He called me back next day and informed me that the price was $400 and we would have to be picked up at 7:30. That did not help me, did not want to wait from 8am til apprx 11:15 to board. Looked back over the messages and called Golden Horse. Cost was $83 per van and $14 for tolls, total $100. Close enough. They were on time and pleasant. Got us there and helped to unload. Earned a big tip. Once again, thank you Mking8288.

Jack, that's great to get feedback on GH, they are really our local car service in Flushing, Queens but they do a lot of airport runs including EWR so I suggested it as a backup. Normally, I would stick w our main one, Carmel (Dial7 for others) They were on time, honored their price quotes n got everyone to port, I am happy as I am not into those car-ride sharing ones at all. Oops, BTW, Tolls went up again, to $15 per crossing NJ to NY, yikes.

I read about your bad experience getting home post cruise, not related to NY ?
