Murphey Posted December 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 19, 2015 We plan to spend one night in Amsterdam before catching a flight home. We want this to be as easy as possible. Can we stay at the airport (so not have to schlep luggage a long way) and take public transportation into the city for the evening? Thanks for any advice on this! Langoustine Posted December 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2015 I know it sounds odd, but CC has Europe divided up oddly, and you should actually post this in the British Isles/Western Europe section (which includes Amsterdam) to get more responses. Rare John Bull Posted December 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2015 The train service between Schipol & Amsterdam Centraal is direct, frequent, takes about 20 minutes, and costs about 15 euros return. http://www.amsterdam.info/airport/train/ Whether to stay at an airport hotel or one in the city will depend to some extent on your check-in time for the flight out, but if you want to overnite in town you can use your cabin case for overnite & leave your checked bags in airport luggage lockers or left-luggage desk. http://www.schiphol.nl/Travellers/AtSchiphol/Luggage/LuggageLockers.htm JB :)
