Hi ladies! I am officially a 2017 bride. My fiancé and I are all booked in to get married onboard the Norwegain getaway in February. We are getting married on the first sea day. I am now feeling the stress a little bit as I haven't really done ANY planning other than booking the day, paying deposits, and sending out the invites. All the little details I am procrastinating on a little bit haha.

I am new to cruise critic. I joined specifically for help with Cruise Wedding related questions. I will be getting married on the Carnival Vista in August 2017. I'm sooo excited to be able to do it on the new ship. We have booked the Havana Cabana Suite and can't wait to get on board, lol.

We're doing a port wedding since any guests that go with us will be sailing guests. Our plan is to get married on Grand Cayman, take some pictures on the beach/island, then head back to the ship for the reception. We have booked the time to celebrate big package with the DJ. (does anyone know what room that would be in?)

So far there's not a lot of info out about the Vista, but I'm sure as it gets closer to my wedding date we will have more info. I've read a bunch of threads so far tonight and there seems to be a lot of great, helpful and friendly people on here willing t share about their wedding experiences. Makes me even more excited for my cruise wedding :0)

Wow, I feel so blessed! So far, about 40 family members have planned to book for our cruise wedding in February on Carnival Splendor. I'm so thrilled to get to have my dream wedding AND still be surrounded by family and friends.

Has anyone else been looking for a creative way to include the cruise in your wedding invitations? My best friend just finished designing mine and I wanted to share them with you for inspiration. I didn't want a nautical "theme" but I love the little extras that make it feel like a cruise.

Congrats New Brides! I suggest doing a ship tour to get a visual. If you contact the cruise wedding specialist they can assist with booking that for you.

We toured the Valor and got to watch a wonderful wedding! It was great to get to see how it all plays out.

Ordering a custom cake topper online and trying to figure out what size to get. Ill probably end up with a 3 or 4 tier cake by the size of my current guest list. Any help from you carnival brides would be very much appreciated...

What size cake topper did you go with or what was the size of your top tier of cake?

As a cake decorator, I would suggest going with a 6 inch topper just in case because that is the most common. Even if it ends being an 8 inch, it will still look good.

Hi ladies! I'm new to this site and it looks awesome! I am getting married on the Carnival Ecstasy out of Charleston April 8, 2017. We'll have 50 guests and about 35 will sail with us on our 7 day cruise. Super excited! My question is are you wearing a traditional wedding dress or something more simple? I bought a dress a few days ago but can't stop thinking about a different one that I tried on. It is absolutely beautiful and my dream dress.. I'm just not sure if it's too "big" to enjoy on a ship? Any thought, opinions, experience, or pictures are greatly appreciated.

Thanks y'all!

I'm wearing my traditional dress but I also bought and white dressy sundress to change into after the reception if I'm uncomfortable in my regular stress. But my dress isn't very "poufy" as you can see and the short train will be bustled.

I'm going to make a sparkly sash to add to my sundress to give it a more bridal feel. It came from Macy's and they had a bunch of pretty white dresses, if any brides are going to more casual route.

Awesome, thanks! I'm definitely wearing traditional but my dream dress is super puffy..lol.. I guess I'll go for it and enjoy my day! Lol

Absolutely! It's your day; make it exactly how you want!

I've been reading through the 2015 and 2016 thread and keep thinking the same thing. Everyone I read about seemed to bring on lots of decorations and add ons. Is anyone else planning to keep it simple? We're going to make up little gift bags for the staterooms and give each room a bottle of wine, and I'm making my own wedding bouquet since we have to use silk flowers in Grand Turk anyway. I crochet, so I'm mixing flowers I made in with pretty silk and lace flowers. But other than that, I'm not planning on doing or bringing anything extra. We have about 40 guests coming, but I'm enjoying keeping it simple. To me, the ship and the sea ARE our decorations 😄 Anyone else planning something similar, or am I just being a lazy bride?

I'm keeping mine simple. Well, other than my big dress..lol. the only decorations I plan on are a few silk flowers for the cake. Cruise ships are already decorated enough for me. I'll also have small gifts for our guests but that's it.

I am doing a traditional dress. I say it's your day...as long as you can get in the door no dress will be too big!:)

Hi Carnival brides, my cousin cruises all the time and convinced me to open a Carnival Mastercard. Normally I am very anti-credit cards but I looked into it. You get 2 points for every dollar spent on Carnival, and that includes booking your room and wedding package. You get 1 point per dollar on all other purchases, and there is an entire list of online stores (like Macys, Walmart and JCPenney) where you get extra points when you shop online Carnival was even nice enough to refund my wedding package (purchased before I had the card) and rerun it so I got the points. I already have a $200 room credit. We plan to use our room credit towards our photo purchase, especially because everyone recommend budgeting extra for the amazing photos. Just a tip for anyone who hasn't started purchasing everything yet

I'm keeping things very simple. Not bringing much extra except for sand ceremony jar/sand and if I bring my own flowers. Perhaps gift bags for guests or do room delivery from onboard gift shop. I'm doing Grand Turk too Nickaf. Can you show your finished bouquet when done? What other options did you choose there?
