carnival excursion transportation

So since cruising with our lo (2 1/2) we have done Carnival excursions so we would be in a bus and not have to take the carseat, anyways I just booked a beach excursion for St. Thomas and you go in an open air thing not a big bus, has anyone else done this? Safe? There were no warnings and is an excursion for all ages. I remember the roads being curvy but I can't remember all the details. If it matters it is the Magen's Beach Getaway

You will not need a car seat for the open-air trolley. They are bench seats.

The roads on St Thomas are pretty scary. Fast drivers, tight curves, and steep mountains. Hold on to your little one as most taxis are open air/bench style.
