jerseyjjs Posted December 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2015 Going to be in Half Moon Cay in March onboard the Glory. Though I've been to this port 4-5 times, I've never had the need for one. This sailing though, my 73-year old mother is coming along and I'd like to get the protection for her. The shade on Half Moon Cay's beach is sparce at best, especially since they took down more trees to build the villas. I've tried to reserve a cabana but they're all booked up. Do I need to contact Carnival in advance to secure them or is it first come, first serve when I get there? TIA. :)
VacationCharlene Posted December 24, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) I LOVED the clam shells. I think they were only $15 or $20 for two people and if I remember correctly we purchased them as a shore excursion, when we went in March of 2015. (oops...that was on HA ) Edited December 24, 2015 by VacationingCharlene
kamac56 Posted December 24, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 24, 2015 When I reserved one the last time it was considered an excursion. check your excursion list for half moon cay and if its available it would be there.
esdoorn Posted December 24, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2015 My understanding is you have to book them on ship and should do so as soon as you get onboard.
OntarioTraveller Posted December 24, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 24, 2015 I looked at the excursions listed for our upcoming cruise. It is not listed, just the very expensive cabanas..... Anyone who has been and rented one? I wondered if you just rent them when you get there. We need shade and will gladly book one ahead. Also, can anyone comment on the tender situation. Are there long lines to get off the ship. Our ship docks at 7.30 (til 3.30). We hope to be off as early as we can! Thanks.
OCruisers Posted December 24, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 24, 2015 Another option is to have her sit in the shaded area of a beach bar. :)
rjrice1 Posted December 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 24, 2015 (edited) I purchase a nice one at Aldi's and it's portable just enough for 2 people Edited December 24, 2015 by rjrice1
Straitlover Posted December 25, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 25, 2015 When I was there in 2013 they were 19.99 and you booked them at the shack on the island, not ahead of time.
