PyrHeaven Posted December 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Trying to decide between Dolphinaris or Dolphin Discovery. My son is 5 and it looks like he might be free at Dolphin Discovery? He is 5 but taller than the "infant" height. If so, this is a no brainer for us! Just curious if anyone else has done the encounter with a 5 yr old? Rare mitsugirly Posted December 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2015 I have never heard of them doing anyone for "free" before. We took our daughter when she was 3 and still had to pay. They do run specials all the time: like buy one person and get the other free or for $1, but you have to watch for these specials. I have never known them to offer free swims just based on an age/height. The height will determine "what type" of swim you get to do, which is usually an "encounter" for the little ones and not an actual swim. I don't know, maybe it has changed and I'm just not aware of it.
PyrHeaven Posted December 27, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Thanks for the input, Mitsugirly! Below is the verbiage from their website: Infants (1-5 years old and 2’11’’ – 3’2’’ ) - FREE * Kids must swim with a paying adult. I have emailed them for clarification. Rare mitsugirly Posted December 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Wow that's awesome! Happy to see that. It really is a lot of money to have to pay for a young child just to do this activity and this probably encourages a lot more people to do the swim now. If they have it posted, I'm sure they honor it. Definitely do it. It's so worth it. We took our daughter when she was 3 and she still talks about it today and she's 7 now. "Foxy dolphin" (she can name the dolphin still). :D I have a review in my signature from when we did it if you are interested. At the time we went, they also gave us the manatee swim for free. (From what I have read on these boards over the years, others have received it for free as well, so maybe you'll get lucky and get both too). :) Here's my pictures from the swim (we use to be able to take our own cameras and take pictures, but they no longer allow you to do that. I guess they were losing money from those not buying pictures :() CLICK HERE FOR PICTURES. Have a great time! :)

Congrats for getting such a great deal and I hope you have a blast. (My older daughter came back the following year and her and her fiancée did the "Royal Swim" and she had a blast. The dolphins pushed her REAL far up in the water.
