nimiq Posted December 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2015 Was reading on our Epic cruise for November and just saw that Shanghai's and Noodles bar are now complementary on the Epic. If so has anyone took pictures of the new menu's and pictures of the food ? Thanks in advance Sea ya Eric

ESBMommie2 Posted December 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2015 All the menus are mostly online on NCL. https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/15333_EPIC%20SHANGHAI.pdf

I notice that it says "cover charge applies" at the bottom of page 2 and had read somewhere that the menu was changed when Shanghai went complimentary. hawkeyetlse Posted December 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 30, 2015 (edited) That is not the current menu for Shanghai, but I don't seem to have a photo from our cruises. There were only around 3 choices in each category (noodles, rice, meat dishes, etc.). Like hlsess said, just OK (at best). The spring rolls and fried rice/noodles were fine, all of our meat dishes were IMO quite bad. Here is the menu for the Noodle Bar and a photo of the spicy seafood udon. This was also pretty poor, unfortunately. But you get to watch the cooks at work. There is often a long wait for these venues on the Epic. It is not worth it (again IMO). Go there when it's not busy, after you've had a chance to try everything else on board. Edited December 30, 2015 by hawkeyetlse

mattio Posted December 31, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 31, 2015 Ate at Bamboo on Dawn which is basically the same thing. Probably the worst meal of the trip. Apps were great: potstickers and spring rolls. Entrees and Noodle Bowls were just awful.
hawkeyetlse Posted December 31, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 31, 2015 Thank you for the info but why such a long line if not worth it ?It is a small venue with limited hours, and there are lots of people on board looking for something new to do. They give out pagers so you can go do something else while you wait for a table or seats at the bar to open up.
bobstheboy Posted December 31, 2015 #9 Share Posted December 31, 2015 We were on board early December and had no trouble getting a table for 2 at about 7pm. We enjoyed the food and I can eat and was not hungry, so everyone has a different slant on restaurants.
