QTBabyNurse Posted January 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2016 When we sailed on the Independence of the Seas last New Year, they raised the minimum bet on the roulette table. That was very disappointing to us as we like to spend many evenings in the casino playing roulette, but we were prevented from doing so due to unreasonable high minimums. When I asked the casino manager why the minimums were so high, I were told it was because it was a holiday cruise and they generally raise the minimum bets on the table games. We noticed many of the tables were hardly ever utilized during the entire cruise as I'm sure many people could not afford to play. Do other cruise lines have this very same practice on their New Years Eve cruises as well? What has been your experience?
OldSeaDog1969 Posted January 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2016 All casinos do this not just the ones of cruise ships & depends on the level of business they are seeing. Usually for Roulette they will go with a $5 minimum spread so you can still bet $1 chips but they must total $5.
