NOSaints1 Posted January 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2016 Never been on Princess or Celebrity there around the same place but Celebrity gives you an O/N in San Francisco. So can you tell me the difference between the two ships and cruise lines, the condition of ships, food, outdoor space, better ships for us in our mid 30s. And your experiences on either ship or intenary to the California Coast? 1 Los Angeles, California Saturday, April 1 4:00 PM 2 At Sea Sunday, April 2 3 San Francisco, California Monday, April 3 7:00 AM11:00 PM 4 At Sea Tuesday, April 4 5 Santa Barbara, California Wednesday, April 5 (Tender Required) , (Wheelchair Access Limited) 7:00 AM6:00 PM 6 San Diego, California Thursday, April 6 8:00 AM5:00 PM 7 Ensenada, Mexico Friday, April 7 8:00 AM5:00 PM 8 Interior$943.65* Guests 3 & 4 - same stateroom$268.15* Oceanview$1,281.15* Guests 3 & 4 - same stateroom$267.90* Balcony$1,483.65* Celebrity Infinity Inside $969* Ocean View $1,309* Veranda $1,839* Concierge Class $2,109* AquaClass $2,169* Suite Los Angeles Santa Barbara San Francisco San Francisco Monterey Catalina Island Ensenada Los Angeles
El Crucero Posted January 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2016 I would pick the Infinity without hesitation. We have cruised both lines, and in our opinion Celebrity wins hands down for our preferences, but we would use Princess if it fit our schedule better. Ruby Princess is 4 stars and Celebrity is 4.5 stars in our opinion.
OhioDogLover Posted January 2, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2016 We sail both Princess and Celebrity, mostly depending upon itinerary. Ruby Princess is our favorite ship, although we prefer Celebrity as a cruise line. DH and I are big fans of X aqua class. We did the CA coastal on Grand Princess March, 2016. Same itinerary as the Ruby offers. It was a wonderful cruise. We have family in LA and SF and lived in both places, so it was bit like going home. If it were me, it would come down to whether I wanted to go to Monterrey and Catalina Island or San Diego. IMHO, the Monterrey Peninsula is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Catalina is fun. San Diego offers the Midway and the Del Coronado Hotel. Sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge was so much fun for us. But then, we lived in SF and have a soft spot for the area. The entire cruise was worth it just for that. I don't think you can make a bad choice. Have a wonderful time. Ohiodoglover
NOSaints1 Posted January 2, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted January 2, 2016 So I'm 37 and my DW is 36, I would prefer Celebrity but what about the age of passengers, were not really into dressing up, so is Celebrity more our style or Princess for those reasons. Equal for this particular itinerary.
Aquahound Posted January 2, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2016 I would pick Infinity. I'm not a fan of Ruby. It felt very crowded, the dining room was utter chaos, and finding our way to the aft pool was a bit of a challenge. That said, I think Ruby has better entertainment, especially for the 30s crowd.
