How does the Specialty Dining Package work?

This may sound like a stupid question, but we have never dined in specialty restaurants before.

We are booked on the 3-day Anthem cruise in March, and we have substantial non-refundable OBC that is proving to be difficult for frugal cruisers like us to use up.

My cruise planner is showing a 3-night specialty dining package. I don't want to purchase it in advance because I want to use OBC to pay for it. Will it also be available onboard? I plan to board very early, since Cape Liberty is our local homeport. How do the restaurants get selected - do I chose or are they assigned? We would like to dine in Izumi, Wonderland and Jamie's. Is Wonderland included?

On our longer Anthem cruise you could certainly purchase the package on board and I would think it would be the same for your 3-night cruise. They are actively selling the package around the ship and at each specialty restaurant. (You can make the reservations for all your choices at any one of the specialty restaurants.) Wonderland was included.

Also, for the other person who commented, I think if you already made reservations you can call and they will adjust the price to the package price (probably give you OBC for the difference).

Enjoy.

Thank you. Just the info I was looking for! :D

We were in the same position. We booked our dining package on Anthem as soon as we boarded. Also best to make your reservations for the different restaurants at that point too before they book up.

Given the numerous reports of quality issues with the complementary restaurants, using your OBC in specialty restaurants is one of the better ways to spend it.
