ExpatBride Posted January 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) We're currently booked in a large balcony cabin on deck 10 and have the opportunity to upgrade to an aft facing balcony for $70. I know it's subjective, but is this a worthwhile upgrade and if so, which deck should we aim for? Edited January 3, 2016 by ExpatBride

Actually, the aft-facing balcony would be smaller than the side-facing one we've currently booked, and that's one of the reasons I wouldn't take the upgrade. I know it's subjective, but is this a worthwhile upgrade and if so, which deck should we aim for? Oh I would take that upgrade in a heartbeat! Well worth $70 dollars for the view alone! We were on Deck 13 and only once had an issue (tiny!) with noise from Spice H20........and that was the night of the White Hot Party and we could hear a dull thump from the music when we sat out on the balcony. With the door closed....no problem!
Rare Cloudyrain Posted January 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2016 Personally we wouldn't take it because Mr C doesn't like being on Aft, and there is more movement/noise in this area. For me I don't mind because I take seasickness tablets anyway and sleep well (partly because of the tablets) and love the amazing view of the wake. However, when Mr C gets in from the Casino in the early hours it's not long before arriving in port and he found it woke him up quite often (and he suffered with sea sickness for the first time). ColinIllinois Posted January 3, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2016 It's a great deal but I wouldn't take it. Those large balconies on Deck 10 are great. I much prefer the whole view from the side rather than just an aft view.
aceparty Posted January 3, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2016 I would take the aft cabin in a heartbeat!! If you think someone will get sea sick maybe not a good idea.
