Shore Excursions and OBC

We're leaving in a few days for the pre cruise portion of our vacation. We have a nice chunk of OBC to use on our short cruise that we envision we might not be able to use up. We don't want to cash it in or spend it on useless items.

We pre-booked/paid a shore excursion because it looked to be very popular, and we were afraid it'd sell out before we could get onboard and book with our OBC. Has anyone ever canceled their pre-paid excursions onboard and rebooked with OBC? If yes, was there any difficulty or dirty looks?

Yes we have cancelled and rebooked. Not always with success and they have sometimes created a waiting list and when we cancelled others took our place. Dirty looks - not really as they want you to book other tours.
