Moreton Island Cruise reception

Recommended Posts

Hi, I was thinking about taking the 4 day cruise on Pacific Jewel departing on 24th March but I have to be on call for work 24/7 (phone and email).

Can anyone tell me if, on one of these 'Australian' cruises, I will keep phone and internet connection to the mainland?

Thanks

Julie

I went up the east coast over Christmas and we stuck quite tightly to the mainland [could usually see mountains on the horizon] and I did have Telstra reception for most of that leg up to and past Moreton. It's not guaranteed though, and if they go a bit further out due to weather or something you'll lose it. Can you set your Voicemail to say you'll be in touch as soon as your reception returns?

Definitely don't be making or receiving calls when you are outside range and on maritime satellite. $5/min to make OR receive calls. Texts 75c.

Thanks Hellyes - much appreciated.
