the english lady Posted January 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2016 Hi Does anyone on here who lives sort of local know what the taxi fare would be from Southampton central train station to the Boathouse Hotel in Hythe. not going on a cruise:(:(, so will only have 2 small cases. Was thinking of doing the ferry ,but tying up all the ends, a taxi may be less trouble. Thank you hopefully.
silver service Posted January 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2016 My neck of the woods! A friend took a taxi from the coach sta Central Southampton, out to me in Dibden Purlieu. Part of hythe Just one mile from the boat house, on hythe marina. Some months ago, charged £27. Ferry , town quay to hythe, perhaps, £4. Been a while since I have used the ferry. For ease of use, with al your bags Although a bit expensive, taxi every time. Regards, Mike, edge of the New forest.

NauticalMiss Posted January 10, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2016 We recently took a taxi from the city centre to the Boathouse as the ferry service was suspended due to damage. It was £28. The taxi driver is governed by a set tariff I believe. Only time we've done it; much prefer the ferry. To reduce any walking you can take the train down the pier, then just walk along the 'promenade' to the Boathouse.
