Removing guest after booking?

Recommended Posts

Hello!

Okay, so we booked a cruise for June 2016, and it started out with 4 of us but 2 people decided to not go. I was wondering if there is any penalty for removing people from the booking. Also we would be able to keep the same room and price? Thank you very much! :)

Not sure about the same room, but more than likely. Yes to keep the price, you will also get a refund for the 3rd/4th passenger as well as their taxes and port charges as long as it is before the final payment date.

Royal may ask (insist) that you move from your quad occupancy cabin to a cabin that holds only 2 people. Your cruise most likely will be repriced to current rates.

What you may want to try is waiting until final payment time or even up to 14 days prior to the cruise sailing to cancel the extra 2 people. By that point they most likely will let you keep the cabin.

The 3rd and 4th guest can cancel with no penalty up to 14 days prior to departure.

Call now and just ask if you cancelled the 3rd and 4th would they make you change rooms.

Take a look at the pricing now and see how close it is to what you booked at.

I called in to ask about cancelling a third pax in our room right before final payment and was told they would require me to move to a different room since i would no longer qualify for a triple and that the rate for two people in the new room was higher than the rate i had booked for 3 originally and i would be required to pay the difference.

Needless to say the 3rd person stayed on the booking :)

If the price is close now you might be better off biting the bullet and making the change proactively than waiting and getting penalized anyway. Sounds like its a gamble as to whether they try to enforce their policy on your or not ....

It has been reported on here several times, once on great detail. Unfortunately Royal does not show this on their website but it does say in their contract that different cancellation fees apply.

Here is the link to the post describing the cancellation policy in detail,
