seabum Posted January 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2016 Good Morning - Looking for transportation for two from the POM to FLL - arriving POM on Sat AM with a 12:30 flight out of FLL. Never used Uber before and a little nervous about the logistics etc - though cost estimator seems to be about the same price (before coupons) On the other hand it can get frustrating with the shared shuttles when they pack you in like sardines on cruise day - as well as the waiting for the shuttle to fill up. Another concern is what happens if you miss the shuttle time due to delays at customs. I noticed several companies say you'll just go on the next available one with room - I dont imagine there is a lot of available space on a Sat morning - so concerned the wait might be "a while" - and we dont have a lot of extra time - some, but not a bunch. We usually drive to the port so little experience with this - This time cruise is SJ > Mia - so driving wasn't an option - LOL What little experience we have is FLL to/from Port Everglades - and there you could practically walk. Rarely sail into or out of POM. Thanks everyone for your input.
JohninDC Posted January 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2016 How many in your party? Shared shuttles from POM to FLL typically charge about $15 per person. Go with one of the bigger and more popular operators (SAS, QLS & Go Airport) and you should be fine. A taxi from POM to FLL will run about $75-80 on the meter; Uber might save you some but the logistics of meeting the driver could be frustrating, With a taxi you just grab the next one in line and go.
