MISSSNOOPYGIRL Posted January 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2016 is this new? I am on deck 2, so will I be one of the first or last to be called upon to board? How am I notified? What if they leave a message but I don't check my messages and just show up at say 11AM?
alora7 Posted January 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2016 From my experience in Galveston, you can show up anytime during the boarding window and get on board. They give the suggested boarding time to spread out everyone's arrival. Our last cruise, we showed up a 10:30, boarding began at 11 but we were able to get through security, get checked in and then waited in the lounge area until 11:30 and then were allowed to board. I think our assigned time was 1 or 2 but we got in early and didn't want to kill time in Galveston. I don't know if other ports are different since I've only sailed Royal out of Galveston. You may want to try and check your messages in case there's a ship-wide delay in boarding. That can happen if they've had noro and have to do a deep clean or if the ship is late to arrive and I'm sure there are other reasons. We were some of the first onboard after the suite, upper tier and b2b passengers.
OfTheSeasCruiser Posted January 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2016 You can arrive whenever. The boarding times are just an attempt to spread out the amount of people boarding at any given time.
