lcookie Posted February 20, 2016 Author #78 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Alright folks I am back and ready to hit Aruba! Let's set sail.
lcookie Posted February 20, 2016 Author #79 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Aruba was the highlight of our trip for many reasons. First, it was Thanksgiving and this was the first time we spent a major holiday out of the Country away from family! Second, it was the last island on our cruise so it was all water after today. Third and most important, mama and I spent our Honeymoon in Aruba and vowed to get back there by our ten year anniversary. We missed that by a few months but hey it still counts. This sign pretty much sums it up for us! This morning we had no problems getting up and being ready to head off the boat. The plan was to hit the beach and vast in the sun. We did a good job of the might I add. Here are a few pics from the Lido deck before we got off the boat. We got this pic of our housekeeping staff. Iwan was the lead guy and she was his morning assistant. There was a third person for night assistant but we never ever met or saw him. I must say they did a great job keep the room up and were overly polite every time we met in passing.
lcookie Posted February 20, 2016 Author #80 Share Posted February 20, 2016 There were three ships in port today so things were hopping and crowded. For the most part the terminal folks kept things orderly. We were going to catch public transportation to the beach, but with so many people there we decided to hop cabs to keep our sanity. We elected to take up camp at Eagle Beach. This choice was made because the area around the beach is less developed so you tend to have more space to spread out and not feel as crowded as neighboring Palm Beach. Also, we has reserved jet skis and the only place to ride them was at Eagle Beach. You could rent them at Palm Beach, but they would transport you to Eagle Beach by boat for your ride. The only real downside to Eagle Beach was that the lack of development made food, drink, and restroom choices very limited. Where we set up, there was one food truck, one drink cart, and a low rise hotel on opposite side of the street for a restroom. When we got there the rental company had out chairs and umbrellas set up waiting on us. We reserved them in advance with the jet ski rentals given the number of boats in the port that day. We could not have asked for a better day. The sun was out with very few clouds, the water was warm enough to enjoy, and there was a constant breeze from the water. lcookie Posted February 20, 2016 Author #81 Share Posted February 20, 2016 As soon as we got there, we suited up and hit the skis. Lil bits reluctantly got on the back with me and we road the open water for about 10 minutes. After that she wanted to head back to shore and play in the sand. We all took turns jockeying the kidos around making sure they all had a good time.
lcookie Posted February 20, 2016 Author #82 Share Posted February 20, 2016 After riding around for an hour we played with the kids in the water and then left them to enjoy it on their own. Later we went to the food truck and drink cart for a lunchtime snack. You know who sniffed out another coconut. This one was chilled to perfection and hit the spot just right. lcookie Posted February 20, 2016 Author #85 Share Posted February 20, 2016 While I was at the drink shack I worked out a deal with a party bus driver to take us all back to the Ship at one time versus splitting up again. This lady's spirit exemplified the Spirit of Aruba! She was warm, bubbly, and very funny. Once we got back to the port we walked around the shops and purchased our obligatory island treasures. lcookie Posted February 20, 2016 Author #86 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Back on board we relaxed a bit and got ready for Thanksgiving Dinner! We did stop by to catch this beauty before she disappeared. Now let me take a minute to introduce you all to "G" AKA SHOT-SHOT! This guy was funny as Hell! He was the life of the party every night and we refused to leave dinner until he paid us our visit. By day he works for the bar up on Lido. By night he delivered a shot of entertainment for anyone who would allow him to. If you are on the Breeze do yourself a favor and at lease meet this guy and let me know what you think. More pics from dinner.
lcookie Posted February 20, 2016 Author #87 Share Posted February 20, 2016 After dinner the girls got their fix in the arcade and then we hit up the magic show. After the show we met up with the rest of the family at the Dive In Theater. The moon was very bright this night. After the movie the girls turned in and I went to the Casino for some late night action. Not sure what time I turned in but it did not matter because we had a sea day the next morning! lcookie Posted March 15, 2016 Author #89 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Day 7 What Can I Say. This was the day we tried to squeeze as much in as we could. Got up early and watched the sunrise. Then I sat up top and enjoyed the sea breeze. This was the first time in many many years I did not partake in the Black Friday Madness. Once the girls got up and at em I went back to the room, scooped them up, and headed to the atrium to meet the family. We passed on the fresh omelettes today so that we could try the seaday brunch. lcookie Posted March 15, 2016 Author #90 Share Posted March 15, 2016 We ended up at a table in the very back of the ship overlooking the water. It was a very calming experience that I long to do again. In a total role reversal, Mama decided she wanted to go do some Black Friday Shopping on the ship. Must have been the peer pressure from the other ladies because she NEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER wants to go when we are back on shore. Teeny was dying to hit up Camp Carnival again, so I was free to do as I pleased. After dropping her off at camp I ventured down to the casino to see what was going on. Now after loosing out on an early casino run previously, I vowed to not gamble until the evenings; however, the tables were calling me and I was feeling lucky. Just as I was walking in I ran into this guy. He is one crazy dude who does not mind having fun. The place was not packed but there were players on the floor. When I got there the table was looking hot so I jumped right in. The tide had turned for me. I paced myself and managed to stay ahead the entire time I was there. Mama came in to check on me and saw my winnings. She then clamed her cut and went to do more shopping. I hung around until it was time for lunch. By way of the Hub App, Mama was able to monitor my progress and promptly donate it back to the ship gift shops, but hey better Carnival pay for it than me right? I went and picked up the little one and met Mama up on Lido for lunch. That look she gives when she knows she spent all my winnings! After the meal the little one wanted to hit the water park before the Hasbro Game Show started. Shortly after we got there the weather started to turn rough. lcookie Posted March 17, 2016 Author #92 Share Posted March 17, 2016 It was getting close to time for the Hasbro Game Show so we headed back in and got ready. This time we got a seat on the top level so we could have a better view. Some members from our group tried to get on stage but were unsuccessful. One member from our FB group did make it up there. After the game show lil bits was dying to go to the arcade and rack up another bill. This by far was our most extended stay in there. Went back up top to check out the weather and it was still a litle nasty out so we headed down to relax before dinner. This was 2nd formal night and we wanted to try our hand at more picture poses. lcookie Posted March 17, 2016 Author #94 Share Posted March 17, 2016 This night we were all relaxed and loose. Really enjoyed the dinner and the family time we shared at the table was great. After dinner we stopped in to catch the show but weren't really feeling it. We stepped out and headed up to Lido for a movie. After the movie the girls were ready to turn in so guess what I did???? Nope! not that. I went to quest. It was my first time so I did not know what to expect. To say we had fun would be an understatement. Our group (The FB Group) won the game. lcookie Posted March 17, 2016 Author #95 Share Posted March 17, 2016 After quest the party shifted to the club. I hung around for a few minutes but then headed up to the casino to hang out with the family. I wish we could have taken more pics in there but rules are rules. I played a few rounds on the tables but for the most part I just socialized. This was our last real night so we wanted to make the most of it. I don't remember what time we went to the rooms and I don't really care lol!
