Falmouth - any suggestions

Does anyone know if you can just get off the ship in Falmouth and book an excursion? I don't see anything through the cruise line that interests me.

When we were in Falmouth in January we just went to the taxi area and there were people there selling excursions. We just hired a taxi to give us a tour for an hour. The cost was $35 for four of us. Our driver was Xavier and he was fantastic.

We booked Rose Hall Hilton in Mo Bay (25 min from Falmouth) through resortforaday.com. We had an excellent day. Transportation was provided so hailing a taxi was unnecessary.

If you're with RCI they do an excursion to Red Stripe beach only 10 mins from the port and you have to use their shuttle. It is a lovely quiet beach with a great Jamaican vibe. Loved it last year and booked again for June.

I loved Red Stripe as well. Personally, for the $$ compared to other excursions, it was worth it. Very relaxing beach day. No fluff- just simple quite beach

Mid-February, we did a walking/food tour and loved it. I first found it on this site. The tour was about 3 hrs. long. The description on the web site is very accurate. Very easy to find when you get off the ship. http://jamaicaculinarytours.com/

I saw information online about a place called Wildlife Swamp Safari, but all excursions I can find that go there leave from Montego Bay, do you think a taxi would bring you there?

Anyone know anything about this Wildlife Safari. It sounds neat, but can't find any way to book it except from Montego Bay.

We did the blue hole excursion through Liberty Tours. Highly recommend. They have several tours to choose from. Loved it.

Where did they pick you up? Are you able to leave the resort when you want or is there scheduled times for transfers back to the pier/port? Considering booking with them for my upcoming Oasis Cruise in May

They met us inside the gated port area (they had a sign). We agreed that the pick up time would be 3:00 pm, and the driver was there (about 3:10 or so) and we had plenty of time to get back to the port, and time to shop in the gated port shops. The driver was professional, and the bus was a modern, air conditioned clean bus.
