Shore trip in Panama

Recommended Posts

Some time ago I recall reading in this forum of a shore trip in Panama where the trip takes you on an excursion and brings you to a place where you are able to see your ship comming to pic up the passengers who were on the trip?

Would anyone have any input about this trip, where you get it and about how long it takes.

Most of the shore trips in Panama come back to meet the ship at Cristobal pier. We were on one where the ship transited the canal locks into Gatun lake, then we were taken off by boat for the tour, then bussed to Cristobal. I think it is just luck of you make it back to the pier before the boat, but it is possible.

That's also true for whether you will see your own ship transiting the locks going east while you are at the viewing stands. Not guaranteed, but it happens.

Almost all the tours include a stop at the canal viewing stands at Gatun locks.
