Amsterdam Tour Recommendation Please

Hello friends:).....my trip is coming up soon. I am sailing out of Amsterdam

on a River Cruise in April:D....first time visiting there. I am only arriving

1 day early and my flight gets in around 7:45am. I really don't want to

do a "morning tour".....I much prefer early afternoon in order to get

settled in at the hotel.....anyway, I was going to see Anne Frank's Museum

but after looking on line for at least the past 3 months, their website

continues to say "NO TOURS AVAILABLE".....I will be there April 6th.

Can any of you locals or anyone else too recommend a tour company?

A walking tour would be good. I have looked at Trip Advisor and there

are so many to choose from:eek:...so I thought I would ask on here.

Thanks for any help.:)

There are kiosks everywhere that sell discounted tours (many right by the main train station). We used Viator.com to book many of our tours....but to get the actual tickets we had to go to certain discount ticket kiosks....dont think we saved any $$$ going via viator.com.

But one can see the various tours available on Viator.com... We did a night walk of the red Light district..very interesting tour that started later in the evening.

Toured the Heineken beer factory....Neat tour and what was very neat was that it also included a free (narrated) canal boat ride back to their downtown store....

Did a relaxing pizza canal supper 1 evening....food was pretty decent, and drank a lot of beer, lol

Check out viator, can get a lot of ideas from that site

Thanks for the reply.......oh, I received a reply from BEN at the

company you recommended to me in the other thread. The timing

won't work with them this trip.

I have been looking at Trip Advisor and will check out Viator.

Thanks again.:)

I use viator dot com a lot when I travel. I always check their website to see what they offer, I may not always book with them, but I like the fact that the excursion is paid for in US $ prior to our ever leaving home.

When pricing excursions be sure you are comparing US $ vs EUR. I have found pretty good pricing on their website, and I've been very happy with their tour providers.

You have to remember they are a third party vendor, they don't actually do the tours themselves.
