Half a day in St Thomas

Our last stop is 7-1 in St Thomas. I've been told how gorgeous Megan's Bay is....but don't want to pay NCL's price to get there. But worried about getting a cab over/back in such a short time. Or, for just a few hours, is there something else I should do in or close to port? Any thoughts about getting the most bang for the buck?

Get off the ship as early as possible and take taxi directly to Magens. It's gorgeous in the early morning before the crowds get there. Always taxis waiting to take you back to the ship. Plan to leave at 11:30 so as not to miss the boat. Taxi fare depends on where you dock.
