Travel from Rotterdam to Southampton?

Anyone traveled from Rotterdam to Southampton ..we do not want to fly if we can find other ways via train,boat ..any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you did fly ..how much was the cost etc. Thanks in advance.

Train would be 6-7 hours with 2 to 4 changes but this site will show you a lot of different methods, and include avg prices.

FLYBE has several daily flight from Amsterdam to Southampton. We have done that . Just over 1 hour on the plane and plenty of taxi in front of the terminal at Southampton. From there to port around 20 minutes depending location of the docks.

You can take the EuroStar. It stops in Brussels and Amsterdam.

I recently looked into this same situation. I was looking for ferries. Icould not find any direct ferries to Southampton, but there are ferries to other places in Britain. There is a P&O ferry from Rotterdam to Hull, UK..

There is also a Stena Line Ferry from Hoek Van Holland (Hook of Holland) that goes to Harwich, UK.

I have never done this but was just looking into it.
