Tell me about the Noordam...

Cruising on the Noordam in May but now wondering if I should have spent $500 more to take the Nieuw Amsterdam instead. Did I make a mistake? Is the Noordam well maintained? Does the casino have a lively atmosphere at night? Thanks!

I was on the Noordam for a 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise last March. I would recommend it. Actually, I was hoping it was on the 11 day Southern Wayfarer this year, but it is not. It is sort of equal to the Nieuw Amsterdam less the Tamarind dining experience. As long as there is a Queens Lounge and a BB King group on board - I'm there !;)

We have been on the Noordam for 3 cruises, the last being a TA and we love her. Always found her to be in good shape. The art tour available via iPod from the library is fantastic. You don't realize what wonderful art artifacts are on her unless you take the tour!

We like that the Noordam has the Explorations Café, Internet and Library on the Promenade Deck as compared to the other Vista class and Signature class ships which have them located in the Crow's Nest.
