dapaddo Posted March 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2016 We have 50 free photos with our booking. Does anyone know how that works. I can imagine ever buying 50 photos. Thanks in advanvce
Vee & Elvis Posted March 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Are you sure it's 50 photos and not 50 IN photos? That seems like a lot - nearly a $500 retail value. In general, a item specific credit can only be used for that type of purchase. Example: $50 casino credit can't be used at the spa... but $50 on board credit can be used anywhere. hawkeyetlse Posted March 3, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 3, 2016 It really is 50 photos. Of course if you don't want that many, you can take fewer. I think a lot of people will probably try to get free photos for other people, I don't know how strict they will be about that. I quoted the terms of the offer in this other thread. One thing to keep in mind is that "Photos can only be redeemed in one transaction." So the last night in the photo gallery is going to be a zoo…
CinAndTheCity Posted March 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Indeed, the photo gallery will be a zoo on the last night, but maybe not that many people will have the promo since it was only offered for a little while on cruises that were only a few months out? That promo (combined with the pick 2) was the thing that convinced me to pull the trigger on my booking, though. We never buy more than maybe 1 photo on a cruise normally because they are so expensive, but this time we will have our picture taken as much as we can. This will include taking advantage of the nights when they do formal photos in the atrium. I also like the silly backgrounds they have on some of the photos, so I am excited about this promo :)
LrgPizza Posted March 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Wow! I've never had more than 5 or 6 photos taken of me on an entire cruise. Ha!
hawkeyetlse Posted March 3, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2016 You can ask for 10 prints of each one :) That's your Christmas shopping done for the year!

hawkeyetlse Posted March 3, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 3, 2016 I thought duplicates were not included?Oops, you're absolutely right. There goes that idea. My next idea is to hang around the photo backdrops on dress-up-or-not night and offer to pose with random strangers so they can get a free photo of themselves (with you). hawk1972 Posted March 3, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 3, 2016 We had 20 free photos included in a package on the Jewel last year. I think it was about a $200 value. We had our picture taken every time we saw an NCL photographer: on deck, in the dining rooms, at the ports, at the photo sessions each night in the atrium, and with the captain. It was kind of fun but I'm not sure even then we could have picked out 50 photos. Have fun!

amarvel Posted March 3, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 3, 2016 We bought 20 photos on our cruise last month. Actually wasn't that difficult to accrue when we just made sure to take our picture every time we got off the ship and we took several different backgrounds on formal night. Then you add in a few of the dining venues. 50 might be a little tougher unless you have a more people in your party but just go into the trip taking a photo at every opportunity. sunsetsoon Posted March 3, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 3, 2016 I can attest to the fact that 50 pictures is a little tougher. My daughter bought the 50 picture package as a gift to me and we had fun trying to reach that goal. We wound up with a total of 49. She had a duplicate made of one she wanted to keep and gave the rest to me for a fabulous scrapbook. There wasn't a bad picture in the bunch but some that were similar. I used them all. dapaddo Posted March 4, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted March 4, 2016 How do they know you have that package, do they put a sticker on you card or is there something in your room?
Lisa8192 Posted March 4, 2016 #14 Share Posted March 4, 2016 We have the photo package free as well. And unless I'm wrong.. It shows 50 photos next to each of our name. Can't imagine being able to pick out that many photos. I'm happy with a few. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
TrumpyNor Posted March 4, 2016 #15 Share Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) My favorite photos from any cruise taken by the ship photographers are actually the ones you can take on embarkation day (where there will be a itinerary map and a photo of the ship in addition), plus we try to get one taken at the pier in every port. It looks very nice in the photo books I make after every cruise. And we often get our photos taken around the ship as well, usually we have many to choose from and then we just purchase the very best ones. One tip if you don't have a photo credit, is to check the photo gallery every day for your photos taken that day or the day before - choose the ones you like, and then ask the staff at the photo gallery to keep them in a folder plus ask them to throw away the ones you don't want. Then the last day all we have to do is take the folder, skim through the photos one last time and then purchase the ones we want. Instead of having to try to locate every single photo of us on the last day, in the "photo jungle" among all the other several thousands photos on the wall. And if you do have a photo package credit (free or purchased), I still recommend that you try to find your photos every day and then ask the staff to keep them in a folder for you. Then you just have a few photos to look for everyday. Otherwise you might spend many hours on the last day of your cruise trying to locate all your photos on the wall displays (and that is not as easy as it sounds....). But does your reservation on NCL's site actually say anything about it? Mine isn't listed anywhere and I was wondering about that.

It is possible to request NCL to send you an "amenity invoice" by e-mail, that you can print out and take with you as "proof" of any promotional "free" stuff. hawkeyetlse Posted March 4, 2016 #18 Share Posted March 4, 2016 We have the photo package free as well. And unless I'm wrong.. It shows 50 photos next to each of our name.Maximum of 50 total prints per stateroom. The terms say "Maximum of 50 total prints per stateroom" but also, you have to buy them all in one transaction. I think maybe they attach the perk to both names so that either one of you can get the photos. Presumably they have it set up so that once one person uses the perk, it gets deactivated for the other person. Like you said, it would be pretty hard to scam them out of a second set of 50 photos even if you wanted to!

hawk1972 Posted March 5, 2016 #25 Share Posted March 5, 2016 Are there any options to get the photos on a cd or drive? Or just printed? Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app When we got the twenty free photos we purchased a flash drive for $19.99 with all 20 photos on it. There was a printed voucher in our cabin for the free photos which we took to the photo desk. Some ships have photos on digital so you view them on monitors. Much easier than printed ones. If they are not digital I agree that it's good to have them put your favorites in a folder during the cruise. We check ours occasionally and put favorites on top. Much easier to choose on the last day.
