llmoyer123 Posted October 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2005 we've never sailed on Princess before (previously on Carnival and Celebrity), so i'm looking for advice can you tell me which of the NEWEST ships you recommend (and why) for a january sailing out of florida on at least a one week (and preferably a little longer) route? the routing isn't overly important to us, as we've visited most of the caribbean ports. it's more about experiencing GREAT food and dining and a beautiful newer Princess ship.... thanks in advance for any advice! chrysalis Posted October 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2005 how long?...does "a little longer" include 10 days or 14 days?
Toto2Kansas Posted October 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2005 The Caribbean Princess might be just what you are looking for. HUGE ship with all of the bells and whistles along with new dining option of the Cafe Caribe. Only a 7 day cruise out of Florida, but it is a very nice ship where the ship can be the actual destination if you aren't really caring about what ports it visits. cruzinchris Posted October 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2005 DH and I sailed on the Caribbean Princess in January of this year and will do an encore sailing 1/28/06. The ship is still relatively new having been christened in April, 2004. On this particular ship, DH and I prefer the Eastern Caribbean itinerary that affords us an extra day at sea. The Caribbean Princess is a destination in itself! Caribbean Princess sails on Saturdays from Port Everglades. If you decide to book a cruise for January, 2006, be sure to join a roll call. Bon Voyage! Chris
llmoyer123 Posted October 12, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted October 12, 2005 i'll check on the caribbean princess....and yes, longer than 7 days would include a 10- 11- or 14-day so would like suggestions for those too. thanks!
MaryPoppinz Posted October 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted October 12, 2005 Caribbean Princess does alternating East/West itineraries of 7 days each, from Ft. Lauderdale, so you could make a 14-day itinerary out of that. But.....my recommendation would be the 10-day Ft. Lauderdale roundtrip canal sailings on Coral Princess. Not Princess' newest ship, but Princess' most perfect. :)
OCruisers Posted October 13, 2005 #7 Share Posted October 13, 2005 Agree with MaryPoppiz ! Coral Princess is a great ship and the 10 Day is a perfect! Happy Sailing! OCruisers :)
