stipmom Posted March 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2016 Need to buy tickets in advance or is the day of okay? Is the price less if I buy in advance? Thanks
Bob++ Posted March 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2016 No and yes, usually. However, since the fare is pretty small, (under £10) I would not bother with the advance booking and just buy a day return on the day.

Unless I have missed something, I can't see any advance fares on this route - so the fares should be the same bought on the day.

You are probably right - when I saw the fare, I stopped looking as there seemed no point.

John Bull Posted March 12, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Assuming this is to be a day-trip and returning to Dover, do be sure to ask for a day-return. Day-return tickets usually cost little more than a one-way ticket, they're valid for returning on any same-day train. But a standard return ticket usually costs about double that of a one-way ticket. stipmom Posted March 12, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted March 12, 2016 Thanks. Will make sure to do that. Any idea How much time before the train I should allow for buying tickets?
Bob++ Posted March 13, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Thanks. Will make sure to do that. Any idea How much time before the train I should allow for buying tickets? Ten minutes should be enough. There looks to be a train every half hour or so on a weekday so no biggie if you miss one.
