kccat06 Posted March 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Hi. We are thinking about taking the Mystic Man Eco Whale Dolphin tour on May 4th. We are on the Carnival Sunshine. Has anyone been on this tour? Does it get you back to port on time? Anybody also know if ship time 8 to 4 pm is the same as the time in St. Lucia or different? Any input on the day on the water and the service would be appreciated.

Tons of reviews. A quick search of this forum will give lots of reviews also. Excellent company. As for ship vs island time - St Lucia does not observe Daylight Savings Time. We are on Atlantic Standard time year round. Whether island time will be same as ship depends on where you're boarding, whether the ship changes times to match location, etc.. kccat06 Posted March 13, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Thank you so much for your response princess. I was hoping that someone that has been on the Carnival Sunshine would be able to answer the ship time question that had been in port previously with the hope that it follows suit for each cruise on the time. I was also hoping to get a cruise ship tour response since most on the website are sunset cruises or private tours not the specific whale dolphin cruise ship special tour. Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted March 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2016 We did the Mystic Man Cruise Ship Eco Adventure tour in 2013 & again in January. It is a big, beautiful catamaran & the crew is very accommodating. A crew member meets you inside the cruise terminal & walks you over to the catamaran which is docked nearby. The scenery is spectacular. We saw a lot of flying fish both times & saw whales (off in the distance) in January. Lunch was great (choice of chicken or fish) & the drinks are plentiful! Thanks Cool Breeze. This sounds wonderful. Unfortunately right now they don't have the minimum to sail. Do you remember how many you had and/or when they met the minimum. We are about 43 days out and only two of us so far. Also do you remember the port times the Glory was in St. Lucia and if it corresponded to the time in St. Lucia? The Sunshine is in port from 8 to 4pm so wanted to make sure we don't miss the boat so do you remember the times of the cruise. Hoping Glory and Sunshine follow St. Lucia time. Cool Breeze Cruiser Posted March 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2016 Thanks Cool Breeze. This sounds wonderful. Unfortunately right now they don't have the minimum to sail. We had 6 in our group to start with & added 4 from our roll calls & 2 more people had already booked. Mystic Man does require a minimum of 10 people so I would post all the info on your roll calls if you need more people. We were in port from 8:00-5:00 in January. When we cruised on the Glory October 31st we were behind island time by one hour in every port (including St. Lucia) because we sailed from Miami & the islands do not observe daylight savings time. On our January cruise we sailed from Miami but ended in San Juan so we switched to island time early in our cruise which made it a lot easier to get to our excursions in time. VPIcruiser Posted March 27, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2016 We loved our day with Mystic Man last week. We found out 3 weeks before the cruise that they had reached their minimum. There were about 30-35 people. We were on a large catamaran and it wasn't crowded. Everyone on the tour was from our ship and we were back in plenty of time. We are still hoping we get some interest from May 4th. It seems on a ship as big as the Carnival Sunshine we would have no worries trying to get the minimum as we are approximately 30 days from sailing and no word on meeting the minimum. We may have to have a plan B. Yeah we aren't to keen on the small speedboats as we hear the water can get pretty choppy while riding on the smaller boats and the wife got seasick on a smaller boat on a previous excursion. It seems St. Lucia is not a location that has many catamaran cruises like the other Caribbean islands like Barbados; St Martin. Why that is I don't know.
