Water too cold to swim right now?

We'll be in Cozumel in 2 weeks. The weather is showing high 79 low 69 degrees.

 

I'm a "hot weather" pool person. At home, I like it to be 85-90 to go in the pool. My DH and kids are tougher :)

 

If you just returned from Cozumel, what does the water feel like right now?

 

We usually go to Chunkunub to snorkel but I don't want to spend the taxi fare and the admission if we won't get in the water.

I was in Coz for three weeks in February and dove quite a bit. The water temp one month ago was 79°F.

Hi,

I was in Cozumel last week on our cruise. I am a native Floridian and like the hot weather and love warm water :)

 

It was a super hot day and since our ship arrived around 11am, we didn't make it to the beach until almost 12:30pm.

 

The water was a little chilly initially stepping in, but I believe in just submerging myself all at once up to my neck quickly.

 

After a few seconds of getting used to it, the water felt lovely and tons of people were in the water swimming and playing.

This past February the water temps we fine for swimming and water sports. :)

Found it a tad chilly getting on Feb. 29th but once wet it was very comfortable.
