Any idea how long Verizon will be sold out of Carnival gift cards? Is this a common thing and its just hit or miss to be able to get gift cards? Any secrets/tips to be able to purchase?

the sell out quickly as soon as they are available. You're best bet is just to keep checking. Usually see them very early morning hours when they are released

Thanks! I did see earlier that it lets you combine points with your own money and it basically equates to a 10% discount on the card. Is this what everyone is referring to? Or can you just redeem points outright for a gift card?

No way I can see to get a free card. You use points to get a 10% discount. I was going to buy some this morning for our upcoming cruise, but we leave next week and I didn't think I'd get them in time. :(
