formal night on 5 day cruise

There won't be a formal night. If you want to dress formally, you eat in the grande restaurant . These ships have been specifically to stop formal nights all together .

What an awful shame.

 

Ouch, glad you posted. It hit me they are on Anthem, which is still doing the dynamic dining.

Dynamic dining is where you have to book all your own restaurants either on board or beforehand on your cruise planner. I always opt for dynamic classic. It's sort of like MDR stuff. So there's classic 1 and classic 2 ...... 1 is early sitting, 2 is late. You rotate between the 4 restaurants with the same waiting staff and table mates.

The 4 venues are ..... the grande, chic, American icon and silk.
