cruisedisneyfan Posted March 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2016 Hey fellow Disney cruisers! It's been a few years since my last cruise and I'm wondering if pin trading with the ship's officers is still a popular activity. Thanks guys! ratpackx5 Posted March 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2016 Is there anything special to know about the pin trading? My kids do it with the CM's at WDW. I assume it is very similar?
moki'smommy Posted March 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2016 There are specific evenings for "Pin Trading with Officers." This is held in the atrium and many "suits" will be out with lanyards. Other times, the people at the podium in the dining room, CMs at guest services and CMs in the gift shops will have lanyards. The general rule is that if they get busy, the lanyards get put in the drawer....so if you go in and they are not busy, just ask. Sometimes they put away the lanyards and don't think to get them out again. And of course, they are eagerly selling pins in the shop and at a little mobile set up in the atrium (during pin trading sessions). They also have the big trading book that you can look thru--if you don't see it, ask. Same rules as WDW.

Yes, they did this on the Dream when we sailed in January. Our 10 year old has many pins already but our 2 year old only had 1. The officers traded pins with the kids but they also gave the 2 year old a couple at no charge. The kids enjoyed it and one of the officers was from our hometown. ArthurUSCG Posted March 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2016 Some of the shops on the Dream also had pin trading books.
