Why Do I Need Quarters

Just heard they put parking meters in the dining room for the strollers. They take quarters.

 

Maybe they should put some of those meters on the deck chairs. That would sure keep the chair hogs hopping.:p

Perhaps the quarters are used to make phone calls home while in exciting and exotic locations. Cell phone does not work in paradise............that is how you know it is paradise.

And the TVs won't work unless you put in a quarter. One quarter = 15 minutes of airtime. Now, the in-cabin jukebox only works on 2 quarters! Just hope you don't get a cabin with a pay toilet! You're talking 3 quarters, here!

Cherub, we used this tip when we travelled from Indiana to Omaha with our 4 and 6 year old grandchildren. Every time they asked how much farther, or they argued, we got a quarter from their stash. It worked like a dream! By the end of the round trip they each ended up with $9.50 out of the $10.00!

 

Alon this same line, I'm thinking of bringing quarters to the dinner table on the cruise to ensure the kids cooperation and good behavior.... but I have a question, do the arcade machines actually take quarters? Or just seapass cards? On the NCL Dawn last year they took both.

Back in college we played a game called butt quarters. Perhaps RCI offers the game!

The only place I can think of needing them is the vending machine in the infirmiry with little packets of pain relivers, bandaids, etc.

Maybe I'm going nuts, but I thought I read somewhere that San Juan, PR had pay toilets that you had to have quarters for? Anyone else hear of this?

My wife has never met a restroom she didn't like. We were all over San Juan and she never had to pay.

Thanks Retired. I must be thinking of another place then. Good thing, because I didn't feel like carrying a roll of quarters (or two! :eek: ) all over Old San Juan with me.
