Google Fi and Carnival Wireless

Does anyone have experience with using Google Fi with carnival's new internet plans? I'm basically wondering what calls would cost and which plan is necessary since Fi does not have roaming charges. On my last cruise I only made calls from w-fi hotspots in port and didn't think to try it from the ship and figure it out on my own.
