Taxi vs Shuttle from airport

We are flying into MSY for the first time and are deciding between the "Super Shuttle" and taking a taxi. We are staying at the Riverside Hilton and the Shuttle is $20 pp, it looks like a taxi is $35 for two. What should we do? Does anyone know if the shuttle stops at a bunch of hotels? Probably be faster (and a bit cheaper) if we take a taxi.

We are a group of 6 staying at the same Hilton.. Wonder if there is a van or private service which would give us direct service. If we take the Super Shuttle will they pick us up at the hotel for return to the airport? We are not on a cruise this trip.

Yes, a shuttle service will pick you up at the hotel and take you back to the airport. You can buy either a one way or round trip ticket when you arrive. For the return, you call them and they will tell you what time they will pick you up. Sometimes, I have found that is much earlier than I want to leave as they have others to pick up too.

Since there are six of you, you might consider splitting up and taking 2 cabs. The fare for 3 or more is $15pp.

In response to the OP, a shared van service will almost always stop at more than one hotel. If it is just the two of you, it is faster (and a little cheaper) to just take a taxi direct.
