UK Cruiser2 Posted April 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) We will be in Ensenada for the day when we are cruising with Princess in October. We are in our fifties so don't want the likes of Papas and Beer. Where should we head to for a few quiet beers in town. We'll probably get a taxi from the ship so where do we ask the driver to take us to or will the shuttle drop us off near there ? SadieN Posted April 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Do you want a bar or restaurant? We like Taquiera Lindo between Papas & Beer and Hussongs. Also like Guadalajara on Macheros between Primera and Segundo. Either of these are a 15 minute walk from the ship. How to I head to these places from the ship,is there only the one cruise dock
SadieN Posted April 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) There are two docks in port. From either dock- walk to the Main Street, turn left at the bridge. (Ignore the few beggars that are here). At the first light go across the street and up a slight hill. Turn left at Ave Primera (Ave Primera becomes Ave Lopez a few blocks down) All these places will take American. **** Both of the above are restaurants but you can drink. The bars can be rowdy. Hussong's is probably the least rowdy. It's the oldest in town and is rumored to have invented the margarita. Other good restaurants are Hacienda Del Charro and Meson de Don Fernando both on Ave Primera/Primera Lopez. Hacienda Del Charro has chicken rotisserie-ing in the front window. We usually get the 1/2 chicken, lousy fries and handmade tortillas. Don Fernando has an excellent Molcajete which is big enough to share. We've been to Ensenada many times. All these places have good drinks and food. They use filtered water. Never had an issue at these places. They also have clean bathrooms (haven't been to Hussong's), just remember to throw all paper into the trashcan.
