Our boys were 6th and 8th grade (don't feel like doing the math lol!) when we went to Alaska and they loved it! They were old enough to do all the adventurous stuff (glacier hiking, flight seeing, rafting), they loved the wildlife and made friends in the kids club got evenings and those few sea days.

It's a great family trip but sure not a vacation!

How common are kids on Alaskan cruises?

We really want to go and we want them to see all of it.

They will be 13 and 10.

There are many kids on-board especially from mid June to end of August . Many multi-generational groups on cruises to Alaska.

We went on the 9 day Jewel last May. There were barely any children and the average age of the cruise was like 60. Dining rooms were empty by 7pm. However, it was our best cruise ever!

Absolutely bring them! We brought along binoculars for everyone so they could all watch for wildlife....sea lions, whales, Eagles, etc. They enjoyed taking their own photos and we all had a wonderful time! One of our best family vacations!
