Fishymom Posted April 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2016 How common are kids on Alaskan cruises? We really want to go and we want them to see all of it. They will be 13 and 10.

quercus alba Posted April 1, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Our boys were 13 and 10 last year--good time had by all. Great family summer vacation, and NCL facilitates it with the 7-day itineraries. (Review link in my sig line below...) cardbucfan Posted April 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2016 Our boys were 6th and 8th grade (don't feel like doing the math lol!) when we went to Alaska and they loved it! They were old enough to do all the adventurous stuff (glacier hiking, flight seeing, rafting), they loved the wildlife and made friends in the kids club got evenings and those few sea days. It's a great family trip but sure not a vacation!
mimi'sgirl Posted April 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2016 Cruised to Alaska last year with my 10 and 12 year olds. We had a great time. Lots of kids on the ship. We went whale watching in Juneau, took a hike in Ketchikan and rented a car in Skagway. Amazing!

There are many kids on-board especially from mid June to end of August . Many multi-generational groups on cruises to Alaska.
sc2011 Posted April 2, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 2, 2016 We went on the 9 day Jewel last May. There were barely any children and the average age of the cruise was like 60. Dining rooms were empty by 7pm. However, it was our best cruise ever!

anniev3 Posted April 2, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 2, 2016 Absolutely bring them! We brought along binoculars for everyone so they could all watch for wildlife....sea lions, whales, Eagles, etc. They enjoyed taking their own photos and we all had a wonderful time! One of our best family vacations!
