West Coast Beach question

Going to Harrison Caves and then to a west coast beach.

Looking for chairs, bar/restaurant, people, soft sand.

Which beach do you recommend?

Take your pick:

Mullins, Holetown or Paynes Bay -probably in that order of preference.

Mullins being farthest away from your ship

Paynes Bay being the closest.

How far by bus is the Paynes Bay beach
From the port? about 5 miles or so.

Fairly straight road "Hiway 1" - heading North along the West Coast

until you get there, about 1.5 miles short of Holetown.

From Harrison's Cave (middle of the island)?

it'll be back to Bridgetown by bus, and then out again to Paynes Bay!

i.e. somewhat circuitous!

Travelling within the island isn't as cute and cut&dried as you might imagine it to be!

This is why ppl use taxis for cross-island jaunts.

If you're staying on the island for 4 days to a week,

you can afford to mess around with the local bus system

but if you're ashore for just a few hrs. it's a different story! ;)
