jfavenuex Posted April 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2016 We have the option of purchasing Cunard care insurance for an upcoming cruise on Queen Mary 2. Do other passengers have good experiences with Cunard care when having to make a claim?
Salacia Posted April 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) My understanding is that insurance policy terms differ depending on when and where the policy is purchased. You might wish to make your question more specific? Edited to add: Here is something on the subject found on the US Cunard website that applies to UK passengers (but not to North American passengers): https://ask.cunard.com/help/before-you-sail/insurance Edited April 10, 2016 by Salacia
deck chair Posted April 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Hello Before you decide I would compare policies on INSUREMYTRIP.COM. Cunard may not offer the best policies, terms or premiums. Hope this helps. Deck Chair
Underwatr Posted April 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2016 (US passenger) I looked into Cunard Care but the coverage is lacking compared to what you can find on InsureMyTrip. I don't know if it's policy or the way the Onboard Sales Team wrote it up, but in my case payment for the insurance wouldn't have been taken until cruise final payment and there's no preexisting conditions waiver. Coverage is only in effect after it's paid for so that's more exposure to potential future issues than I'd choose without some sort of preexisting condition coverage. I will say the price is pretty good, although the evacuation limit is a bit low.
lannp Posted April 10, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2016 I would definitely explore all options before you commit. It also depends on where you live. I compared Cunard to some others and found Cunard was expensive for what they offered.
