cruisedisneyfan Posted April 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2016 Hello fellow cruisers! So I took a chance and booked a guarantee veranda with restrictions catagory for my upcoming May 14th sailing. I'm curious to find out when DCL usually assigns those staterooms. Do they wait until the last minute? Have you had good experiences booking GTY catagories? Thanks for any feedback you can give me! :)

Do they wait until the last minute? Have you had good experiences booking GTY catagories? Thanks for any feedback you can give me! :) Since you said "with restrictions", I'm figuring you mean the last-minute restricted fares (*GT) and not the "regular" guarantee rooms (where you can select a specific category and your booking says, for example, 5A GTY instead of a room number). *GT assignments typically show up about 10-14 days out from the cruise. But can be assigned at any time. Edited April 14, 2016 by Shmoo here
moki'smommy Posted April 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 14, 2016 Technically your room can be assigned any time between now and embarkation. Most commonly, you will see your assignment on line about 2 weeks before embarkation BUT if someone wants to purchase the cabin that you are assigned to at regular price, DCL has the right to move you. It doesn't happen often but it does happen. The next question you'll have is "what about luggage tags." If you have an assignment before the tags are printed, your room will be on them. If you don't have an assignment at that time, the bar code on the tag ties to your reservations and the CMs will be able to get your checked bags to you. If you get an assignment prior to turning in your luggage, use a black sharpie and write in the room number.
