One thing you could consider is a Day Pass at the Savoy Hotel in South Beach. They have a beautiful pool and the beach is right there. Cost is $25 per person per day. Info from their website:

Relax and spend the day at our pool for only $25 per person and receive the following:

We had a 7:30pm flight out of Miami last September after we returned on the NCL Sky. We booked the Cadet Hotel for the day. We had the room from 9am - 5pm for $79. We grabbed breakfast on the ship then took a cab to the hotel.

The hotel was only a few blocks walk from the beach and a couple of blocks from the bus stop where caught the bus to the airport. I highly recommend it! It was nice having a place to shower and nap before the flight.

You can taxi to MIA ($27+tip), pay to store your bags there, and then ride the airport flyer bus to South Beach for about $3 each.

You can taxi from POM to SB and pay to store your bags at the luggage lounge; collect the bags in the afternoon and taxi ($32+) or bus back to MIA.

Either option gives you most of the day to explore SB, grab lunch, drinks, people watch, etc.

Miami International Airport hotel which is located inside of the MIA airport has rooms available for the day from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. I believe the cost is between $95 and $99. Pretty convenient if your flight leaves from MIA.

But no pool! :-(
