dmv1966 Posted April 30, 2016 Author #51 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Thanks. This all makes sense. However, if you use these calculations the premium prior to the so called limited time sale was $49 without vat and gratuity. So it's really a 2% sale. WOW!! abo Posted April 30, 2016 #52 Share Posted April 30, 2016 I called and was told European sailing has 10% VAT . Here's how it was calculated to me by the pre cruise planner :Premium package for the Harmony is $59/day less 20% totals $47.20/day $47.20/day plus 10% VAT totals $51.92/day $51.92/day plus 18% gratuity totals $61.26/day And yet on my August Harmony cruise which doesn't have the 20% off the premium remains at the base price of $49 (plus VAT & gratuities). So the price only increases to $59 when they offer the so-called 20% discount. As I said before - underhand business practices and treating their customers as fools. Rare steamboats Posted May 2, 2016 #54 Share Posted May 2, 2016 Are the prices fixed now? Seems like in Euro you pay a bit more than 57 Euro for the Ultimate: Ultimate is 57 USD - 20 % = 47.20 USD + 8.50 USD (18 % Service Charge) + 4.72 USD (10 % Spanish VAT) = 64.20 USD Using a conversion rate of 1.12 64.20 USD = 57.32 Euro. steamboats
